I've been wanting, no, NEEDING a date book to help me remember birthdays and anniversaries. The family has grown to include spouses and grandchildren and it's too much to remember in my head! (I am living with the belief that age has nothing to do with my memory!)
I used to be SO good at sending out greeting cards. I was one of those people who once I knew your birthday, I always remembered it! I guess I learned it from my mom was organized and sent cards for every occasion. She would write her cards out the beginning of every month and they were ready to send. You could always count on a birthday card from Mom.
With the advent of Social Media, paper greeting cards are becoming passe. I receive fewer and fewer every year. I admit to succumbing to e-cards. With beautiful virtual card sites like Jacquie Lawson and Blue Mountain, it's enticing to shoot off an e-card, one you don't have to create, address or stamp!
However, I still delight in opening birthday or anniversary cards that come in the mail and I'm guessing others are happy to be thought of on such a personal level.
I looked for a pre-made booklet with pockets for the cards like I had years ago and couldn't find one. Then I looked for templates and still wasn't satisfied.
So I decided to create my own! And I am so proud of it that I wanted to share! It's super easy and will organize you. Even if you do want to send those virtual cards, you still need to remember the dates!
Supplies you'll need:
12 pocket Organizer
blank paper or cardstock
Greeting Cards

I used an organizer with 6 pages and 12 clear pockets.
I created this cover and slipped in in the front:
Then I created a page for each month. I didn't want calendar squares. I wanted lines to add names to so I numbered them like a list. If you're savvy with Excel, I'm sure you could figure it out on there!
I created 2 templates, one for 31 days and one for 30. Then labeled them for each month. I added a fun clip art that coincided with the month - shamrocks in March, Easter Eggs in April, etc. Like this:
I used regular paper but card stock is heavier and may serve you better. I also like to save the trees, so I used paper that had writing on one side.
Then I slipped a page into each insert back to back
And it turned out like this!
